The cover of Yakai #2. Originally published as part of a quarterly, Japanese-language, 16-page comic about my personal ghost experiences. The response to this cover in 2017 was mixed with many people telling me they felt anxiety about the fear I seemed to have on the cover. Some even refused to buy the book thinking that any comic about ghosts would be a bad item to bring home with them or that the cover was somehow a hint of the gore and horror of the story within. For me the experience was frightening but the cover as well as the story were intended more as comedy than horror. The original Japanese-language run was a two-color RISO-printed book and limited to 100 numbered copies. The Japanes version is available for purchase in limited supply HERE.
